FH Faunteroy Capital Campaign
1st Annual Holiday Celebration
We are ready for the new phase in our journey…fortifying DC’s First Community Resilience Hub’s mission through financial sustainability.
The FH Faunteroy Center & Resilience Incubator is ending 2024 with a feeling of great accomplishment, we have raised all funds for the Buildout Construction (expansion from 2,000 sq. ft. to 7,000 sq. ft.) and Solar and Battery Backup Project. Over $3.5MM has been secured through a number of Local and Federal funds, which include FY22 & FY24 Awards from the Department of Urban Development Community Project Fund, made possible through selection by Representative Eleanor Holmes Norton, Solar & Battery Technical Assistance Award by Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE), and Neighborhood Prosperity Fund Award through the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development. With these funds the Faunteroy Center will be able to deliver, to Ward 7 and greater Washington DC, the first of its kind Resilience Incubator@FH Faunteroy in 2025.
On Giving Tuesday, Dec 3rd 2024, we did two very important things to cap off this pivotal year for the FH Faunteroy Community Enrichment Center. Firstly, we embarked on our 1st Annual Friends of FH Faunteroy Holiday Celebration by highlighting a Legacy Awardee. It couldn’t have launched any better than recognizing David Wilmont Founding Board Member Emeritus, life’s work as an impactful Mentor. Secondly, we launched our Capital Campaign to support ongoing programming, operations and maintenance. It was an incredibly successful evening with over $115,000 pledged funds which included an surprising award from M&T CHARITABLE FOUNDATION, $100,000, presented by LaKendra McNair; $10,000 from Pepco presented by Hakeem Mumford; and several significant individual gifts.
Join us! Invest and be part of this journey by becoming part of
Friends of FH Faunteroy.
Programming continues throughout 2025 and upon completion we must be in the position to fully sustain the organization in order that it continues its evidence based successful programs, optimal operations, and regular maintenance.
As a community based social enterprise, our impact is direct and our mission to build resiliency and sustainability through, economic mobility, emergency readiness & preparedness, community engagement, and environmental literacy across all generations (youth, adult, seniors) in Ward 7 requires robust development of private, public, and community partnerships.
Onwards and Upwards – Excellence With, By, and For the Community !
